Unlike the FM3, FC6, or FC12, the FM9 supports a single footswitch per pedal jack instead of an expression pedal. This means you can connect up to
3 footswitches to the if you aren't using an expression pedal,
2 footswitches if you are using 1 expression pedal, or
1 footswitch if you are using 2 expression pedals or something like a Mission SP1.
